Whirinaki Whare Taonga's Classical Expressions series brings you the treasure of music in six concerts spread throughout the year. Some works are beloved, familiar treasures which have stood the test of time; others are intriguing new works which may well become treasures to future generations.

Described as being "at the forefront of a new breed of classical guitar virtuosi," Guedea bridges cultures through expressive performance, new music collaborations, and innovative pedagogy.
In this performance, he presents "Sempre Dolens" – an exploration of the duality of nostalgia.

Los Angeles-based New Zealand fortepianist Mike Lee commemorates the 200 year anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death by presenting an all-Beethoven programme on an instrument that closely resembles one of the composer’s own.
